Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler looked like a pedestrian during the first half of the No. 4 Sooners home game against West Virginia on Saturday, including an early interception.
OU fans wasted no time letting the projected first-round pick of the NFL draft pick up after that play. They booed and demanded that Rattler be replaced by freshman backup Caleb Williams.

The interception was Rattler’s third in four games this season.

Questions about Rattler have arisen after he threw two interceptions in a 40-35 victory over Tulane and managed just 73 yards in the first half against West Virginia on 7 of 11 passes.

Rattler was a preseason Heisman Trophy favorite, and while the season is still young, it’s never a good sign when you lose the support of your fan base and there are calls for your endorsement to replace you.

Williams was rated a five-star quarterback by top recruiting services and came to Norman as the No. 1 quarterback in his class.
He still hadn’t entered Saturday’s game in the third quarter (the Sooners and Mountaineers were tied 10-10), but if Rattler continues to fight, the fans can get away with it.
