Youtuber Nikita Dragun’s musical debut was mired in controversy on Thursday.
The popular YouTube personality is primarily known for her makeup skills, but is trying to expand into the music scene and make a name for herself as a pop star.
The video drop for her new single, however, heated up for various reasons.
Nikita was criticized by Asian Doll for using her image in the music video.
In the video, Nikita raps “all of you wearing shit that I already wore” as various photos of women, including Asian Doll, are shown in the background. All the photos of the women have the word “d ** k” written on them.
Asian released a few tweets in response to Nikita, but Asian also received backlash for confusing Nikita in the messages. Asian Doll’s Twitter account was not active as of Thursday night.
“Nikita will be dragged by her bald spot,” read one of Asian’s tweets.
“What do you call guys who mess with girls? Bullying ”, said another.
Nikita responded and let Asian Doll know that the intention of using her image in the video was to make a statement about trend-setting trans women.
“This statement was to show that trans women set the trends for cis gender sentiments, but never get the credit. This was not intended to be shady for you. U just turned out to be an example, “wrote Nikita.
She also told another black woman that trans black women and black gays “gave the culture,” when the woman told Nikita that black women create the culture for the queer community.
Then Tyga started trending after Nikita Dragun shared a screenshot of Tyga texting him on his video, in what people criticized as an attempt to poke fun at him.
Tyga accused Nikita of chasing influence, adding that her company filmed and directed a music video for her a while ago, probably implying that was the reason for the message.
