Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is more focused on Mohamed Salah’s play than on his contract negotiations with the club.
“There is nothing really to say, especially from me, since I am not involved,” Klopp said, according to Sky Sports. “The only thing that really interests me is what Mo looks like, how smart and committed he is right now, and that’s absolutely spot on.
“It looks really good. There’s nothing more to say.”
Salah only has two years left on his contract, and Klopp confirmed last month that the club had started talks with him about an extension.
Salah scored the equalizer in the second half in Liverpool’s 3-2 Champions League win over AC Milan on Wednesday. Now he has four goals in five games in all competitions.
The Egyptian has been a crucial part of Liverpool’s success since arriving from Rome in 2017. He helped the Reds win the Champions League in 2019 before ending the 30-year drought of Premier League titles at the club a year later.
Liverpool is third in the Premier League and will face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday before facing Brentford in their next PL game next weekend.
