“You want to play with the bee, huh?”
On Wednesday, #LilKim advertised exclusively to @PEOPLE that she is releasing a memoir, “The Queen Bee. The book will be co-written with Kathy Iandoli and will be published by Hachette Books on November 2, the site reports.
“I’m excited to finally be able to tell my story after all this time,” Lil ‘Kim told PEOPLE. She continued, “Many people have thought they knew the story of Lil ‘Kim, but they have no idea.”
According to PEOPLE, the book will detail Lil ‘Kim’s 30-year career and the ups and downs of the industry.
“Lil ‘Kim not only broke ground for women in hip-hop, but also inspired the careers of those who followed him,” the site reports. “However, life at the top has not been easy either.
The memoirs will also discuss Lil ‘Kim’s hidden moments from her reign: her complicated high-profile relationships, the misogynistic industry she struggled to change through sexual positivity, the challenging double standards of self-image, and beauty at the center of attention, and the momentous act of loyalty that ultimately landed her in jail. “
It is said that “Queen Bee” is a “true page turn from start to finish, Queen bee she is as fierce, empowering and tough as the woman at the heart of this story, and firmly consolidates her legacy as a true feminist icon. “
“The Queen Bee” will be released on November 2, 2021.
