Northampton, MA – News Direct – Illumina
For the second year in a row, the United Nations celebrates the International Day for Equal Pay on September 18. This important day highlights global efforts to achieve equal pay for work of equal value, something to which Illumina is deeply committed.
Research indicates that around the world, women earn less than men for work of equal value, and that this pay gap is even higher for women of color. At Illumina, we firmly believe that no one should be paid differently because of their gender, race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or national origin.
We are proud to have confirmed a zero pay gap in 2020, and we remain committed to global pay equity. Across our company, employees are paid the same for the same work. This commitment aligns with our fair and respectful culture, and allows us to continue attracting the best talent to do their best work and fulfill our mission.
Global pay equity is just one of Illumina’s many ongoing commitments to diversity, inclusion and fairness across the company. It also aligns with our endorsement of the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, in which we are committed to making a difference for gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace, the marketplace and the community.
In 2020, our CEO, Francis deSouza, signed the CEO Action Commitment, the largest business commitment driven by CEOs to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace. While there is still much work to be done, we are dedicated to fostering a global culture that is equitable and representative of the diverse world in which we live.
