Colts WR TY Hilton Almost Retired After Neck Surgery

Must read

Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver TY Hilton has remained with the organization in the past. March through a one-year, $ 8 million guaranteed deal, but then landed on injured reserve before the start of the regular season after requiring neck surgery.

It turns out that Hilton was closer to retirement this fall than some people thought.

According to Josh alper of Pro Football Talk, Hilton returned to practice this week for the first time since undergoing the procedure, admitting to reporters Thursday that he spoke with his former teammate Andrew Luck about his future.

Luck surprisingly retired prior to the 2019 season after suffering multiple physical setbacks during his relatively short career.

“The first two days when I got home, I almost hung up,” explained Hilton. “I can’t even lie. I didn’t tell anyone but the people close to me. I was about to hang up. I talked to Andrew, that was probably the wrong thing … to be good with it, to come back healthy, I don’t know. Hurry, take your time. ”

The Colts sit at 1-4 after last Monday’s heartbreaking overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens and could certainly use Hilton’s services in the future. Hilton’s status for Sunday’s matchup against the Houston Texans 1-4 has yet to be confirmed.
